The Discovery of Silk

Long ago in ancient China, an empress was drinking tea in her garden. A silkworm cocoon accidentally fell into her hot tea. She noticed that the cocoon began to unravel into a long, shiny thread. Amazed by its beauty, she started to study it. Later, people learned how to extract silk threads from cocoons and weave them into fabric. This marked the beginning of silk.
