Maintenance of Silk Scarves

  • Hand Wash Only:
Silk scarves should never be washed in a washing machine. The safest method is to wash them by hand. Use warm water at 30°C (86°F), add a small amount of neutral soap, and gently rub the scarf with your hands. Rinse thoroughly with water and let it air dry.

  • Avoid Chemicals:
Silk scarves are delicate and should not come into contact with perfumes, mothballs, or other chemicals, as these can easily damage the fabric. This is especially true for white silk, which may yellow when exposed to such substances.

  • Proper Storage:
You can either hang your silk scarf on a hanger or fold it carefully. When folding, avoid squeezing or pressing the scarf too tightly to prevent wrinkles and maintain its smooth appearance.
