A Monologue From Founder Dana ( 一）

Hi, I’m Dana, from Chongqing.

Dana Xu is a brand I founded back in 2004.

As a mountain kid, I’ve always loved mountains and nature.

When I was little, I raised silkworms.

Little did I know that growing up, I’d form an inseparable bond with silk.

It all started in 1994 when I worked part-time as a translator for silk clients from Pakistan.

Back then, I always looked forward to being notified by my boss to go to the factory for inspections.

Do you know that silk has a soul?

To me, it feels – “calm,” “natural,” and “wildly growing.”

It resonates with my upbringing – I was a free-range child, growing up “unrestrained” in the mountains.

From working as a part-time English translator  to starting my own offline silk trading company.Over 22 years, I’ve connected with many clients of different faiths, languages, and skin colors.

At its peak, the company even achieved over 100 million RMB in sales.

I feel like I’ve always been nurtured by love.

Because of silk,I’ve also gained different perspectives on understanding diverse cultures.

I’m Dana, a girl who loves silk.
